A Totally renovated canal cruiser. Built in 1975 and brought up to date for the 2020s

This tired canal cruiser was given a complete re-fresh inside and out.

Insulation: Polyethylene vapour barrier
Cabinetry: Hand-cut 18mm birch plywood
Exterior work: Repaired and re-freshed rubbing strakes, painted hull and cleaned original gelcoat areas.
Electrical:
Lighting: New LED lighting was fitted with careful consideration for . Lights could be switched on and off from either end of the boat for convenience.
Wheelhouse - Constructed from pine and plywood, veneered with teak. Roof and sides fibreglassed and topcoated.
Plumbing - The existing calorifier was found to be in servicable condition and was fitted to a new tap and thermostatic shower mixer. The water tank was stainless steel and also was in very reasonable condition after a clean. This saved the client a lot of money.
Engine: The original Ford Crossflow had water ingress damage to one piston thus needed a rebuild with new bearings, rings and valves. A new weber carburettor and fuel system was also fitted and repairs were done to the engine cover to prevent further water ingress.
Sterndrive: Bearings and seals were all replaced and the box was finished a fresh coat of anti-fouling paint and a new anode.
